The Governor of the State of Osun Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has approved the renewal of the appointment of Dr Samson Akinbamidele Omobayo Adegoke as the substantive Rector of Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke.
In a statement signed by the Head of Service, Dr Festus Olowogboyega Oyebade and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, Osun state capital, said said the appointments take immediate effect.
He was born on May 21, 1960 at Ipetumodu, Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State.
He attended St. Charles Grammar School, Osogbo for his secondary school education.
Thereafter, he proceeded to the then University of Ife, Ile-Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1980 where he bagged Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning in 1986.
He later attended The Polytechnic, Ibadan for a Full Professional Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning between 1988 and 1990. In 1988 and 1989, he sat for and passed Parts I and II Final Examinations of Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers respectively. Dr. S.A.O. Adegoke later proceeded to the University of Ibadan, Ibadan where he bagged his Masters and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Urban and Regional Planning in 2001 and 2016 respectively.
Dr. Adegoke started his professional working career as Town Planning Officer at the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Survey, Ibadan, Oyo State from 1987 to 1988; Assistant Project Manager, Ibikunle Lawal and Co. (A firm of Estate Surveyors, Valuers and Town Planners) Lagos, from 1989 to 1990; Senior Estate Surveyor/Branch Manager, Lagos Office of Oyeleke Afolabi & Co. (A firm of Estate Surveyors and Valuers) from 1990 to 1992.
He later joined Omole Group of Companies, Ilesa as Group Estate Manager from 1993 to 1995.Dr. Adegoke’s academic career started in March 1995, when he was invited to join the Estate Management Department of Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke in preparation for accreditation by the then Head of the Department, Mr. J.B. Oluwi (of blessed memory) in order to satisfy the condition of at least two Registered Estate Surveyor and Valuers, before the department can be accredited to run National Diploma programme in Estate Management.
He therefore joined the department as a Lecturer I, and rose through the ranks to Senior Lecturer in 2000, Principal Lecturer in 2003 and Chief Lecturer in 2007.
He served in different capacities before he was appointed Rector of the famous College. He is happily married with children
